Editorial Policy

This page explains how Pet World Plan decides what to publish, where the information comes from, and what happens when we get something wrong. It is written to be held to.

Independence

Pet World Plan is not owned by, funded by or affiliated with any trainer, brand, breeder, clinic or retailer. Nobody pays to appear on this site, and no article has ever been commissioned by a third party.

How articles are sourced

We work from the published guidance of recognised animal-welfare and veterinary-behaviour organisations, and from behaviour literature that those organisations themselves cite. Every article ends with the organisations it drew on. We link to their main pages rather than to deep URLs, because charity sites reorganise often and dead links help nobody.

What we will not publish

• Diagnosis or treatment advice for an individual animal. That is veterinary work and we are not veterinarians.
• Aversive methods or equipment presented as a recommendation.
• Product endorsements, affiliate links or sponsored articles.
• Statistics we cannot trace back to a named source.

Corrections

If an article is inaccurate, send the article title and the correction through the contact page. We aim to reply within three business days. When a correction changes the meaning of a passage, we edit the article, change the "last updated" date at the foot of the page, and note what changed. We do not quietly delete pages that turn out to be wrong.

Updates

Articles are reviewed when the guidance behind them changes, or when a reader tells us something no longer holds. The date at the bottom of each article is the date of its last substantive edit, not an automatic timestamp.

Advertising and funding

This site does not currently display third-party advertising, and there are no affiliate links in any article. If that changes, advertising will be visually separated from editorial content and labelled, and this page will be updated first.

Reader questions

Questions sent through the contact form are answered by email. General questions that come up repeatedly are turned into FAQ entries on the relevant article — never with any detail that identifies the reader.
